(Well. The idea of this blog is to publish things that no one else would like bother to publish OR, more likely, reflects a degree of laziness in that I don’t have a lot of time to find a legitimate outlet so here it goes. Please check the tabs at the top to see the categories I write in, and especially check out the fiction stuff because I have aspirations to be a hack. I might already be there!)
I’m embarking on a new phase in life. My blog is my effort to put out my thoughts on all matter of things, fact to fiction, about my journey into the unknown with all its ups, downs and sideways.
Who am I? I was one of the world’s leading market strategists, specifically following US interest rates and somehow making that interesting to people. I was voted the #1 such strategist for 11 years in a row by Institutional Investor Magazine and was noted for an arcane thing called technical analysis (five years ranked #1 in that). My work has appeared in Barron’s, the Financial Times, Bloomberg’s Prophets, Wealth Management to name the best-known of the genre.
I’ve got a wooden sailboat that leaks money but is gorgeous. I turned 60 in 2018 and will reveal more as time goes on. I’m an avid fisherman and a lousy skier. I’ve climbed Tanzania’s Mt Kilimanjaro in 2014 as part of expedition featured in “Born to Explore” TV show. I’ve been a freelance writer with articles on wilderness survival, Revolutionary War re-enacting, World War II, economics, Kilimanjaro and The Head of the Charles Regatta. And in late 2021 I published a book of my short stories, albeit self-published, many of which appear under the Fiction on this very blog.
